Spacecraft Materials Outgassing Testing – Engineering for Extreme Environments

Are you a passionate engineering or science student looking for a hands-on, high-impact summer project? This exciting 8-week internship will give you the opportunity to develop a real-world aerospace testing system, working at the intersection of mechanical, thermal and electrical engineering.

You’ll take on the challenge of designing and building a heated bed system for material outgassing tests, a crucial step in ensuring spacecraft components meet spaceflight standards. Your work will contribute to developing a state-of-the-art vacuum testing rig, including precision thermal control, electronics design and advanced simulations.

Who should apply?

  • You’re studying Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • You have experience in mechanical design, electronics design and control systems.
  • You’re a team player who enjoys a challenge and want to develop your skills in a rapid prototyping design environment.

This project is perfect for problem-solvers who thrive in fast-paced environments and want to see their work make a real difference.

If you’re up for a high-tech engineering challenge with hands-on design, prototyping and testing experience—this is your chance!
