Senior Facilities Manager
Magdrive is hiring a Senior Facilities Manager
Location: Hybrid, Harwell Innovation Campus, Oxfordshire
Magdrive is looking for a proactive and organised facilities manager to oversee the maintenance and smooth operation of our office and lab facilities. This is a senior role where you will take responsibility for a wide range of equipment to ensures our workspace remains fully compliant with all regulations, safe for our team, and well-prepared for future growth. You will work closely with senior leadership, as well as suppliers and external consultants, to ensure optimal function, compliance, safety and expansion of our facilities.
Magdrive develops cutting-edge spacecraft thrusters to open new possibilities in satellite servicing, orbital assembly and interplanetary transport. Responsibilities
Ensure facility meet Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) standards and comply with regulations.
Schedule and supervise maintenance activities to ensure facilities remain operational and compliant.
Oversee and manage suppliers and subcontractors, performing maintenance or facility upgrades.
Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure efficient budget for maintenance.
Manage building-related matters, including landlord relations.
Collaborate with outsourced Health & Safety consultants to implement and monitor safety protocols, conduct risk assessments and monitor & maintain compliance.
Work with senior leadership to advise on and support future expansion of facilities and lab space.
Be the primary contact for external facility users, managing their journey from initial enquiry to onboarding and day-to-day needs. Develop and optimise processes for managing these customers.
Requirements
Essential
5 years experience in managing high-tech lab equipment and facilities, including experience with cleanrooms.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively.
Understanding of Health & Safety protocols and compliance.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to liaise effectively with external suppliers and consultants.
Desirable
Experience operating space-related equipment and facilities.
Experience training and supervising others to use high-tech equipment and facilities.
Experience in budgeting, sourcing suppliers and vendor negotiation.
Track record of delivering new or upgraded labs and facility.
Previous responsibility in overseeing health and safety in labs.
Safety training in roles such as fire marshal or first aider (training provided if needed).

Magdrive is seeking a well-organised and proactive Executive Assistant/Office Manager to join our growing team, supporting both executive functions and the smooth operation of our office. You will be coordinating the schedules of our CEO and CTO while overseeing our office and lab facility.
Magdrive develops cutting-edge spacecraft thrusters to open new possibilities in satellite servicing, orbital assembly and interplanetary transport. You will play a pivotal role as one of the early employees of Magdrive, which brings enhanced freedom, responsibility and potential for career growth.

Responsibilities
Act as the front of house for Magdrive. i.e. reception duties.
Efficiently manage the diaries of the CEO and CTO, coordinate meetings. Be on hand for any ad hoc tasks from the CEO, CTO and any of the senior leadership team.
Help to execute any requirements for external meetings and events.
Researching and booking any company-related travel.
Ensure the office is well-organised, tidy, and stocked with supplies to support daily activities.
Assist with administrative tasks, including basic accounting, HR support, purchasing, office maintenance.
Requirements
Essential
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively.
Experience managing office environments and supporting senior leaders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable with a flexible approach to tasks.
Desirable
Experience in high-tech or scientific environments.
Safety training in roles such as fire marshal or first aider (training can be provided if needed).
Practical, hands-on skills for light facility upkeep.
Graphic design ability e.g. Canva/Photoshop
Social media management e.g. LinkedIn Posts

Salary £25k - £30k per annum (DOE).
